This spring, if you’re not wearing the other key trend white, then you should be going bright. A refreshing break after a winter of a rich colour palette and heavy materials, the SS 2013 runway was a rainbow of vivid colour.
Burberry Prorsum certainly won SS’13 runway show with the most colours, with a vibrant metallic twist to their classic British trench. Across the runway blue was the hue of choice; whether electric, sky or cobalt, it has been central to all shows and is a must for this season. Orange has also made a statement, as seen on the runway in Stella McCartney and Versace’s SS 2013 shows. And finally, no longer a colour only to be seen on the beach, neon brightened the first of the 2013 runways, from Louis Vuitton neon yellow, Oscar de la Renta neon pink and neon green for Diane Von Furstenberg.
So this spring stand out from the crowd by pairing opposing block colours, don’t be afraid to wear different shades of the same hue at once, and finish off with a slick of matt pop lipstick and white nails.
Remember: the brighter, the better.
