Oxford Fashion Week 2012 - November Dates Announced!
This winter, the global fashion community shall once again descend upon the iconic city of Oxford for what has quickly become one of the principal and most prestigious events on Britain’s annual fashion calendar, Oxford Fashion Week.
Taking place between the 5th and 11th of November, this year’s Oxford Fashion Week promises to be the largest, liveliest and most significant to date, ensuring that the beautiful city of Oxford becomes the place to see the world’s most dazzling and important fashion trends for 2013.
A variety of events will take place throughout the city including a headline, red carpet haute couture show at the world famous Ashmolean Museum. Further headline events to be announced over the next 6-8 weeks include a High Street fashion event, Young Designer Awards, a music/fashion Concept Show & the Lingerie Show. There will be a whole host of supplementary events taking place including trade exhibitions, networking events, themed parties and many more. Fashionistas can expect a multitude of preliminary shows and events during the summer months, leading up to the main event this November.
Over the past four years, Oxford Fashion Week has showcased the talent of some of world’s foremost, cutting-edge designers such as Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, Valentin Yudashkin, Ara Jo and Yvonne Lau. As well as the big names, this year presents by far the best opportunity for the most exciting young designers to showcase their work as potential, future stars of fashion.
Councillor Bob Price, Leader of Oxford City Council, says: “The City Council is pleased to be able to support Oxford Fashion Week this year. The Week has grown in a very short time from an idea from students who were aiming to create a showcase for their work, to a multi-dimensional series of events that is attracting the future stars of fashion as well as some of the world’s most renowned designers. This year’s Oxford Fashion Week promises to be bigger and better than ever before and we hope that it will go from strength to strength in the years to come.”
Oxford Fashion Week is now open for applications from businesses and brands seeking to participate in this year’s spectacular event. Production partners, sponsors, models, designers, media and volunteers are asked to apply online at www.oxfordfashionweek.co.uk
